WELCOME : :

TRISWIM was orginally developed out of a need for quality skin and hair care products for swimmers. But that was just the beginning. Now, we're known for brands that not only leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed and restored, but that also promote total body health. Our Chlorine-Out Shampoo, Body Wash, Conditioner and Lotion are becoming well known as brands of high quality and dependablity for those who want to remove chlorine their from skin and hair, and reverse the effects of overexposure to the sun and the harmful chemicals found in most swimming pools. TRISWIM also removes that 'greenish tint' from your hair.

We have just launched TRISLIDE - a new silicone skin lubricant that gives you increased comfort while training and racing. The only lubricant found in an environmentally friendly aerosol spray, TRISLIDE was developed using a non-volatile orgainc compound propellant. TRISLIDE stays on even in the water and washes off with soap and water. It's the most innovative product on the market to give you greater freedom of movement while preventing nasty chafing and blistering. Developed by our own Chemist, then tested and approved by triathletes, runners and surfers, TRISLIDE silicone body spray promotes easy entry/exit from wetsuits and reduces runner’s hotspots. ATHLETE NEWS : :

We've asked some of the top triathletes to try our products in the course of their regular training and racing schedule.

Tim Hola, pictured, was given special mention in the October issue of Triathlete Magazine as one of the top Age Group athletes to watch at this year's Ironman World Championships in Kona on October 12th."

Karlyn Pipes Neilsen, pictured, scores seven new world records.

Masters phenom Karlyn Pipes-Neilsen, 46, recently returned from a very successful trip to Oregon and Switzerland where she set seven new FINA World records for the 45-49 age group.

Competing at the USMS National Long Course Championships (50m), in Gresham, Oregon August 14-17th, Karlyn established new world records in the 100-meter back (1:08.48), 200-meter back (2:26.30) and 200-meter medley (2:27.57).

Three weeks later while on a business trip to Switzerland to host Aquatic Edge swim technique clinics, Karlyn competed in the Zurich International Masters Championships held September 5-7th. Karlyn set new global standards in the 400-meter medley (5:13.85), 400-meter free (4:35.84), 50-meter fly (29.52) and 100-meter fly (1:05.69).

SWIM KIDS : :

While many kids and adults put swimming on the shelf in September, Fall is the best time to build on summer water comfort and skill development. But swimmers can get green hair and dry skin from long exposure to the water or chemicals while swimming and the harmful effects of chlorine can affect their health, causing itchy, dry skin and possibly leading to eczema. What’s the solution? What can you do about it?

Unfortunately, the normal "after-swim showers" to remove chlorine can actually compound the problem as we usually shower in chlorinated water. So, the best advice from leading dermatologists suggests using a chlorine-out shampoo and body wash immediately after swimming. This helps to prevent the lasting effects of overexposure such as dryness, itching, hay fever and other allergies.

CHLORINE AND SUN FACTS : : UPDATED

Two elements in pool water can cause damage to your hair, scalp and skin: chlorine and copper. Chlorine is an oxidizer added to a pool or spa to kill bacteria. Copper is a mineral added to a pool or spa to kill algae. Most people think swimmers' green hair is caused by chlorine. The mineral copper is actually what causes swimmers' hair to turn green.

Chlorine, used in swimming pools, is a bleach and it does have a damaging effect on hair. Not only does it affect the texture of the hair, but it can also weaken hair at the follicle. But your hair isn't the only part of your body affected by pool and spa water. Your scalp and skin may experience adverse affects as well, including extreme dryness, itchiness and flaking.

Visit our Chlorine and Sun page to learn more.
